Planning a City Hall wedding is surprisingly simple and stress-free. Unlike traditional weddings that require months of preparation, a City Hall wedding can be organized in just a few weeks or even days. All you need is a marriage license, which you can obtain from the San Francisco County Clerk’s Office. In order to get a marriage license you and your significant other must be there in person with your identification. Once you have your license, you can schedule your ceremony at City Hall. However, keep in mind there is a waiting period of at least 6 days after obtaining the license before you can have your ceremony, unless you qualify for a waiver.
